Coimbatore: Police Ukkadam on Tuesday ordered a case against employees of the Department of Public Works (PWD) to forge educational documents.
The defendant was identified as G Murasoli Santanallur, who worked as Wireman in the PWD Electricity Division.
Murasoli has joined the department as a temporary electric helper at daily wages in 1996 and has submitted class X certificates and diploma certificates in the field of electrical and electronic engineering.
In 2012, when the State Government said workers who had worked for more than 10 years, Murasoli was appointed as Wireman Grade II in the Coimbatore Division.
In January 2018, when the department looked for applications for promotion, Murasoli submitted a request for it.
“The educational certificate was sent to the Directorate of Technical Education for Verification.
Because the roll number does not match the documents, the Directorate sought the original certificate and transfer certificate in October 2020 and found that the certificate was forged,” said a police officer.
Furthermore, the department looked for explanations from Murasoli.
Because he did not respond, the disciplinary action began with him and he was suspended on November 24, 2020.Police had recorded a case below 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for cheating purposes) and 471 (cheating to using the IPC.
