Dubai: Fourth rented flight that brought civilians from Afghanistan to Qatar because US forces withdrew themselves to meet last month on Sunday with more than 230 passengers, including Afghanistan, America and Europe, said an official of Qatar.
Qatar Airways flights also carry residents from Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Canada, France, Italy, England, Finland and the Netherlands, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Qatar, Lolwah Rashid Al Kheater wrote on Twitter.
A second Qatar official said there were 236 passengers, making him the biggest evacuation flight since the withdrawal of US troops and allies ended on August 31.
“Qatar will continue its collaboration with international partners about efforts that ensure freedom of movement in Afghanistan, while working with various parties on the ground towards more general progress in the country move forward,” said Second Official.
Passengers will initially live in a compound in Qatar Capital Doha who hosted Afghanistan and other Evakares.
Qatar has emerged to have the main interlocutor between the West and the Taliban.
The Gulf State is the US concluded ally, holding the largest American military base in the Middle East, and has hosted the Taliban political office since 2013.
