Qatar urged the Taliban to ensure the ‘safe passage’ of AFG

Doha: Qatar on Wednesday urged the Taliban to ensure a “safe passage” for people who still wanted to leave Afghanistan after a chaotic US-led evacuation ended.

“We emphasize the Taliban problem of freedom of moves and that there is a safe part for people to go and enter if they really hope,” Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said at a press conference after a meeting with the Netherlands with the Netherlands, Sigrid KAAG.
“We hope to see this commitment fulfilled in the near future when the airport starts the operation again and that it happens smoothly, without obstacles for anyone who wants to go or come to Afghanistan.” US officials said Kabul Airport was in poor condition, with most of the basic infrastructure degraded or destroyed.
