Quarantine is not needed, Indian shooter to practice in the venue from July 19

New Delhi: Not required to undergo quarantine in front of the Olympics, Indian shooters will start practicing at the venue from July 19, after getting their room allocated at Games Village after arriving in Tokyo on Saturday.
The shooting event will be held at Asta Shooting Range, which is located in Saitama Prefecture, Tokyo Northwest.
The venue also hosted a shooting competition at the 1964 Olympics.
“They have settled in the village, the rooms are allocated in the village of Games and they will start training from July 19.
There is no quarantine or whatever isolation is needed because they have arrived from Croatia , “The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) Secretary Rajiv Bhatia told PTI.
He said the formality on arrival at Narita International Airport was carried out smoothly and the contingent did not face the hassle with provisions for social distance.
On Monday, the shooters can visit the range to feel the game.
“There is a jet leg after a long flight from Europe.
So they will practice after the right break.
They might check the range tomorrow.” The Olympics are scheduled to be held from July 23 to August 8, with a shooting event starting a day after the opening ceremony and includes the first 10 days of extravaganza, which will be held without viewmits because of a pandemic.
Members of other disciplines who arrived from India and several other countries hit by Coronavirus should conduct quarantine compulsory three days when they arrived in the Japanese capital.
The Indian shooting team left Zagreb on Friday after completing a 20-cum-training stint in Balka Nation.
In Amsterdam, a stopover before taking a flight to Tokyo, the 13-member gun and rifle team joined two Skeet shooters – Maairaj Ahmad Khan and Angad V VIr Singh – who were practicing in Italy.
The Indian contingent has shifted based on Zagreb in May because it was considered safer for them to practice there when the country was rolled under the destructive second wave of pandemic.
During their stay in Croatia, Indian shooters participated in the European Championship in Osijek, starting May 29 to June 6, before participating in the last World Cup before the Olympics, from June 22 to July 3, in the same place.
India will be represented by a record of 15 shooters in the Tokyo game.
The Indian team has eight rifles, five pistols and two skeet shooters, in addition to coaches and support staff members.
Before the Coronavirus pandemic broke out, Indian shooters consistently dominated sports, completing the top of the table in the ISSF World Cup in 2019.
