R Velraj appoints the representative of Chancellor of Anna University

Chennai: Tamil Governor Nadu Purohit Banwarilal on Tuesday appointed R Velraj as Deputy Chancellor of Anna University.
He will hold a post for a period of three years from the date assuming the office.
VELRAJ, which has 33 years of teaching experience, is currently working as a professor at the Institute of Energy Studies, Anna University.
He also worked as Director of the Institute of Energy Study and Director of Anna University-FRG Institute for CAD / CAM.
VELRAJ has published 193 research papers in indexed journals with H-Index 52 and more than 10,000 quotes.
He also guided 33 PhD graduates and had two patents for his credit.

He formulated three courses for the PhD program in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and introduced nine new courses for the Master of Engineering and involved in the establishment of two academic programs for the Master of Engineering at Anna University.
The university has been run by the Convener Committee of three members over the past four months after M Surappa completed his tenure as a representative of Chancellor on April 11.
