Cape Town: South African Pacer leader Kagiso Rabada on Tuesday was released from the team for a one-day international series of three matches against India as part of his work management.
The series began in Paarl on Wednesday.
“Proteas SEAM Bowler, Kagiso Rabada, has been released from the team for the Betway One-Day International (ODI) series against India because of the high workload of a period of sustainable time and its needs to recover the test series out before New Zealand next month,” said Cricket South Africa (CSA) in a statement.
The Board said there was no substitute to be taken for Rabada because there was a squad that was expanded in a bio-safe place (BSE), but George Linde had been maintained from the test team as an extra spin-bowling option for the series.
