Panaji: While the rabies mission is involved in educating the public about the threat of rampant wild dogs in many parts of the country, they are now joining hands with vigarism Society (claw) for mass vaccination and sterilization of wild dogs in Panaji.
“We have signed a memorendum of understanding (MoU) with claws where we help them catch dogs to sterilize.
While they will work in Panaji especially, they can take the surrounding area like Bambolim also if needed,” Mission Rabies Director of Education Dr Murugan Appupillai to TOI .
A team of claws will work with the vaccination team and every dog captured by rabies mission for vaccination will be transferred to the claw for sterilization.
After surgery, all dogs will be released back to their original location and will continue to lead the lives of a puppy.
Many wild dogs also struggle for food because of a pandemic.
Along with Mission Rabies, Sister Charity World Veterinary Service (WVS) and other animal welfare organizations and individual dog lovers in Goa also help by feeding, saving and growing animals.
