Race for Odisha DGP Post Hots; Pradeep lime, strong Santosh Kumar upadhyay

Bhubaneswar: The race to become the Director General of Police (DGP) is active in full vapor in Odisha with Cop Cap Abhay Petahan will retire on December 31, ahead of the Pancrayat election which is likely to be held in February.
“We have sent a name panel that qualifies to post to the UNI Public Service Commission (UPSC) for supervision.
The UPSC will avoid three possible names.
The state government has wisdom to choose from the three for the usual DGP post,” said an officer of the Department House senior.
The state government on Wednesday issued a notification, allowing Abhay to retire from the service on December 31 this year.
The 1986 Batch IPS officer, which was named DGP on November 20, 2019, was assumed to be a fee on December 9, 2019.
Although he was scheduled to retire in June 2021, the government extended its services to six more months to meet the direction of the Supreme Court of the Minimum Minimum Mastery DGP.
Source said the state government tends to call new DGP in the first week of December.
“The right two-year ownership of the DGP presented will end on December 9, 2021, because he joined the same date two years ago.
Although the government extended his term until December 31, the government could move it after this December 9 will not violate the term benchmark 2 years the Supreme Court for the DGP term, “said the senior lawyer, a senior lawyer.
Abhay’s 1986-Batchmate Pradeep Lime and Batch Officer 1988 Manoj Chhabra and Santosh Kumar Upadhyay is a strong competitor for the DGP post.
Odisha currently has six DGP ranking officers, holding various offices.
Two of them – Pradeep lime and Sunil Kumar Bansal – have been in central deputation for several years.
Even though Bansal was the 1987 batch officer, his appointment for DGP posts seemed to be gloomy because he had been far from Odisha for more than 15 years in central deputation.
Current lime is an advisor (scientific) of the National Technical Research Organization (NTRO) in Delhi.
Upadhyay, who is the Director General of Country Prison and Correctional Services, has emerged as a strong competitor to post up.
