Mumbai: Three men posing as representatives of Telecommunications Airtle Major and the people who were cheated by offering them VIP telephone connections had been captured by the North Cyber ​​crime police.
Ten ATM cards, six cellphones, eight SIM cards, Countrymade revolves, and nine rounds were confiscated from them.
Between June 10 and June 11, men sent Messages WhatsApp and email to the suburban residents, posing as an airtel company executive.
The complainant trusts them because the email has an airtel logo, the company’s address, and the GST number mentioned in it.
The complainant wants to have a VIP telephone number and agree to pay the bank account number mentioned in the email.
The defendant cheated him to pay Rs 3.33 lakh in installments.
But when he didn’t get a VIP number also didn’t return the money back, the complainant gathered that he had been cheated.
He then registered complaints with the North Cyber ​​Crime Police in June 19.
Based on the technical supervision method, the police tracked two charges – Santosh Gupta, 40, and Preshit Narvestar, 48 – to Kandivalali East.
Revolver was found in Gupta and researchers registered a case against him under the ARM acting at the Samta Nagar police station.
Further investigations led officials to Mastermind – Zain Khan, 24.
He was picked up from Dombivali.
Officials found that Khan had bought a domain name with the words ‘airtel’ in it and also bought data from several leading companies.
“The three defendants have postponed several individuals to the tone of Rs 15.88 lakh.
We have recovered a number of Rs 2.10 lakh so far,” said a police officer.
