US Open Preparation Rafael Nadal has experienced another setback after the Spaniard resigned from the Cincinnati Hardcourt next week with a disturbing foot problem, the Masters 1000 tournament organizer said on Wednesday.
Nadal experienced a surprise surprise last week in Washington, where he kicked his lead to the US Open, and on Tuesday withdrew from a 1000 master event on Toronto with the left foot problem.
The Spaniard is the latest in a number of high profile names to sit in front of next week & South Open, join a list that includes Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Sofia Kenin.
In the pre-tournament press conference in Toronto on Sunday, Nadal said the repetitive foot problem he had faced since 2005 again in the French Open, where he fell to the final champion in the semi-finals.
When discussing Toronto Nadal’s withdrawal, who also sat Wimbledon and the Tokyo Olympics, said: “With this pain, I cannot enjoy, and I really don’t believe that I have the opportunity to fight for the things I really need to fight.

Milos Canada Raonic, which runners-up in Western & South Open, held in New York in an effort to limit the trip in front of the US Open because of the Covid-19 outbreak, also withdrawn from Cincinnati.
