Srinagar: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday arrived on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir where he would inaugurate the party’s head office here.
Gandhi was received at Srinagar Airport tonight by the leaders of the Senior Congress from Jammu and Kashmir, including the President of the Pradesh Ghulam Congress Committee Ahmad Mir, said Congress leader to PTI.
Congress MP is scheduled to attend the reception of Mir’s son’s wedding in a hotel here at night where the heads of political parties in UT have also been invited, he said.
Those who were invited include NC President Farooq Abdullah and Head of PDP Mehbooba Mufti.
On Tuesday morning, Gandhi will visit Kheerbhawan Temple in the Central Kashmir Canderbal Regency and Dargah Hazratbal on the edge of Lake Dal here to pay for his heart, the leader said.
At 11:30 a.m., MP Congress will inaugurate the Bhawan Congress at Ma Road in the heart of the city here, he said.
“He will also interact with party leaders and workers in the party office,” added the Congress leader.
Gandhi will leave for Delhi later on Tuesday.
