Rahul Gandhi, captain Amarinder Singh Different at Jallianwala Renovation

New Delhi / Chandigarh / Amritsar: The awkward situation appeared for Congress on Tuesday when Rahul Gandhi slammed the Makeover of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre site as “underestimating the martyrs”, a charge seemed to be directed at PM Narendra Modi while Punjab CM Amarinder Singh approved changes in iconic venues.
Weighing on controversy triggered by the changes carried out in Jallianwala Bagh, which was inaugurated by PM Modi in a laser show on Saturday, Rahul posted a strong tweet virtually called the renovation of martyrdom.
“The insult of Jallianwala Bagh’s martyrs can only be done by those who do not know the meaning of martyrs.
I am the son of a martyr – I will not tolerate the insults of martyrs at any cost.
We opposed this indecent cruelty,” he said.
With sharp contrast, Amarinder said the renovation work “looked very good”.
In response to questions in media interactions, he said: “I don’t know what was removed.
Whatever I saw that night (at the inauguration event), it looked very good for me.” However, Amarinder added that he hadn’t seen a tweet Rahul on this problem.
The difference of opinion between the two leaders of the Congress came at a certain time when part of the party leaders from Punjab close to the new PCC president appointed by Navjot Singh Sidhu had questioned Amarinder’s leadership ahead of the assembly since the beginning of next year.
Some other opposition leaders have also been critical of the new warning.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony from Jallianwala Bagh who had been renovated on Saturday, Amarinder described it as an award to martyrs and symbols of inspiration for young people.
But the controversy immediately erupted with Jallianwala Bagh Shaheed Parivar Samiti (Jbsp) and even historians and politicians objected to facelift.
They blamed the government because they destroyed the original features of the warning, where hundreds had died on Baisakhi day on April 13, 1919.
British historian Kim Wagner commented that the last trace of April 1919 massacre had been effectively removed.
The narrow part with a striking brick wall, right at the entrance / exit of Jallianwala Bagh that must be crossed by foot – because it is not wide enough to accommodate the vehicle – no more.
Instead, there are walled lines with shiny murals and crowded with wooden wood.
Cheap human figures symbolizes ordinary people who have gathered on Baisakhi’s occasion, opposed the British dictation, which prohibits mass meetings, and falls into bullets at the order of Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer in 1919.
Lane out separately has occurred carved for tourists .
The President of Jbsp Behal Mahesh told Tii, “Our main objection is the lack of originality from the entrance track, giving a new look by slapping the wall with the cemented murals on both sides and closing windows.
No need to put wood wood on the track.” A small pyramid structure Cemented, who told the visitors that “people fired from here” have also been destroyed.
Location Amar Jyoti or lasting flame and flagpole have also been changed.
