New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday crashed into the government about the issue of poverty and accused that those in the middle class in the country are poor now and poor people are destroyed now.
Taking swipe on the government over media reports claiming that in the last eight years the poor in this country has increased rapidly, he asked where they used to say “Achche Din” (good days) will come.
The report claimed that in 2020, 7.6 crore people had gone below the poverty line and the number of poor people increased.
“Those in the previous middle class are now poor.
Those who are poor are now being destroyed.
Where those who used to say that ‘Achche Din’ (good days) will come,” he asked the tweet in Hindi.
Congress on his official Twitter account also accused that people lost their better days while waiting for ‘Achche Din’ to come.
Gandhi made a clear reference for the comments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the 2014 Sabha election where he used the “Achche Din” slogan to come “in his poll campaign.
