Letter: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday continued at the Judge Judicial Court in the district letter and the session court to record his statement in the case of defamation submitted by BJM MLA from West Letter and now the minister of cabinet of Panchesh Modi in April 2019.
Gandhi last appeared in court in June and denied making comments slandering people with the name of the Modi family.
This was for the third time he appeared in court on Friday because the case submitted by the Indian Criminal Code 499 and 500 was registered.
In his complaint, Modi has accused Gandhi to suppress the community with his statement, “Why did the thieves have Modi as a general family name?”, In a political meeting at Karnataka on April 13, 2019 in Run-up to General Election.
Previously, the complainant in this case had requested a local court to record a statement of two additional witnesses who were part of the election commission team hired for Videography of Gandhi’s speech, which was finally agreed upon by the High Court.
After their statement was recorded in this case, Gandhi had to record his statement in court.
For half an hour attendance in the Court Gandhi statement was recorded in a few minutes.
“He told the court that he did not realize it in his reply to the statement recorded by two additional witnesses.
He did not talk about anything else,” said Kirit Panwala, who represents Gandhi in this case.
“Gandhi has been allowed not to stay in court in every hearing but followed the remaining specific orders.” Modi, who was also present in court, however, refused to comment on media questions.
“We asked the court to allow recording statements of two witnesses, which is also part of the election commission team involved in video recording speech and data storage.
The court will hear our case on Saturday,” said B V Rathod, Lawyer Modi.
