New Delhi: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday met with Chhattisgarh Minister Baghel Bhupesh and Minister of Health T S Singh Deo in an effort to resolve the upheaval of the power between the two senior leaders in the state.
AICC is responsible for Chhattisgarh P L Punia and Secretary General AICC (Organization) K C Venugopal is also present during the meeting held by Rahul Gandhi at his residence.
The source said two leaders of Chhattisgarh had separate meetings with former president of Congress.
The meeting lasted almost three hours.
Rahul Gandhi heard the two leaders patiently in his efforts to adjust the differences in state leadership, the sources said, adding that several more meetings with the leadership of the senior party possibilities in the coming days.
Punia told reporters later that the development problem in the country was discussed during their meeting.
He also denied that leadership problems were discussed.
Singh Deo and Baghel have been in Loggerheads, with the first claiming that leadership during the election victory in 2018 has proposed the rotation of the ministerial pole after 2.5 years.
Both of them said they would obey the party’s high command decision.
“Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are our leaders and we will obey whatever they say,” said Singh Deo told reporters before the meeting.
Baghel also said that whatever decision was taken by leadership would be followed.
While both of them met Rahul Gandhi earlier on this issue, Baghel had also met the Congress of Sonia Gandhi’s head.
Congress has faced a similar problem in Punjab and Rajasthan, with senior leaders facing various problems.
