Srinagar: The CBI on Friday conducted a search at the residence of nine former bureaucrats, including the residence of the former IAS Mehboob officer Iqbal, in Srinagar and JamMu regarding cases related to real estate scams.
The body invaded the premise of two then the Kashmir Division Commissioner (including Iqbal); Then deputy commissioner, Srinagar; Then the assistant Commissioner, Nazool, Srinagar and then Tehsildar, Nazool, Srinagar and Defendant (personal / beneficiaries) in an ongoing case investigation, in accordance with the official release.
Special judges have issued a search warrant.
Burdensome documents including ownership rights fighterts, documents relating to some immovable properties located in Srinagar, Jammu and New Delhi, departments remain more than Rs 25 Lakh, RS 2 Lakh cash (approximately), the key to six bank lockers and A number of bank account rights have been excavated, released added.
The CBI has registered a case – Roshni’s fraud – in the direction of the High Court of J & K.
Allegedly that the ownership rights of state land, measuring about seven canals and seven Marlas, in the main location in Srinagar were given arbitrarily at the applicant who did not meet the requirements at affordable prices , causing a big loss of the country.
Furthermore, the allegations that the category of land also changed arbitrarily by civil servants who were members of the price fixation committee (PFC).
Iqbal is one of the leading bureaucrats in J & K, which has increased in the position of the Division Commissioner, Kashmir.
Immediately after retirement, he joined the Democratic Party Peoples (PDP) and ordered the election of the Bhaderwah Constituency in 2014.
Even though he lost the election, Iqbal was nominated as Secretary General of the PDP.
He was also appointed as Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) during the BJP-PDP government in Istama’s country.
However, after the PDP-BJP government fell in 2018, Iqbal handed over its main membership of PDP and joined the National Conference (NC).
