Bengaluru: Metro Rail service in the city will be available from 7am to 6pm with a frequency of five minutes in rush hour and 15 minutes in non-peak hours from Monday to Friday starting from Thursday, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said on the day Wednesday.
However, depending on the patronage, the train will be operated with an increased or decreased frequency, the BMRCL said in a statement.
There will be no service on Saturdays and Sundays due to Covid-19-induced night hours.
BMRCL previously said that under Unlock-2 guidelines, services were available from June 21 from 7am to 11am and from 15:00 to 6pm on weekdays and suspension services on Saturday and Sunday.
BMRCL, who has suspended a token system after the Covid-19 outbreak, has decided to introduce a smart token to travel a single trip from July 1 other than a smart card.
