PATNA: The railways has restored services of at least eight pairs of special passenger trains either originating from or passing through the jurisdiction of the East Central Railway (ECR) from June 24.
ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar said services of Muzaffarpur-Narkatiaganj, Patna-Bhabhua Road (via Gaya and Ara), Danapur-Rajgir, Dhanbad-Ranchi, Howrah-Dhanbad, Ranchi-Deoghar and Gaya-Dhanabd special passenger trains will be restored from June 24 to clear summer rush.
Meanwhile, Bihar Daily Passengers’ Association has urged the railway authorities to restore services of MEMU trains on Patna-Buxar, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhaya Junction-Patna, Patna-Barauni via Patliputra Junction, Patna-Jhajha, Danapur-Mokama, Sasaram-Patna and Islampur-Patna routes at the earliest “Milkman, vegetable vendors and other daily commuters will be benefited if the services of these MEMU trains are restored,” said secretary of the association Shoaib Quraishi.
Meanwhile, ECR GM L C Trivedi held a meeting with representatives of railway employees’ unions at Hajipur on Tuesday and assured them of addressing the grievances of the employees.
