Rain affects normal life in South West Bengal

Kolkata: The heavy rain is heavy due to low pressure marked with both Bangladesh and West Bengal affecting normal life in Kolkata and several southern districts in the state on Thursday, flooding lowland areas.
Weatherman has expected with heavy rain in Kolkata until Friday morning.
Some highways and low areas in the city are flooded with continuous rain since Wednesday night.
The Met Department has predicted a very heavy rain with very heavy rain in several places in the South Bengal District until Friday, because the low-pressure area is well marked which is likely to move west in West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar.

The city of Haldia’s port at Purba Medinipur received a rain of 216 mm, while canning in 24 pargana got 186 mm rain during the same period, the department said.
Kolkata recorded 76 mm rainfall during the period, side by side with Lake Salt received 50 mm.
Weatherman predicts very heavy rain with very heavy rain in several places in the 24 North Pargana, South Pargana, Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, and Howrah District until Friday morning.
Heavy rain until very heavy will also occur in Hooghly, Bankura, Purulia, Purba, and Paschim Bardhaman until Friday, he said.
Purulia District in the western part of the country tends to receive heavy rain until Saturday morning.
Heavy rain will continue in 24 North and South Pargana, Bankura, Paschim Bardhaman, and Paschim Medinipur Regency until Saturday morning, the Met Office said.
Heavy rain can cause an increase in the surface of the river, and urinate from lowland areas in the southern district of the country, he said.
