Rain before time to postpone the arrival of the king of fruits

Dharwad: Mango farmers in the Dharwad district that must be subject to severe losses for two years due to natural vagina and Covid-19, once again worried because the ‘fruit king’ will be postponed this season.
The reason for the arrival of Mango who was late was associated with the rain before the time in November.
During the normal season, flower initiation is usually triggered by a cold night and dry conditions in November and fruiting began in the second week of December.
It will take more than 60 days for maturation and farmers will get results in the last week of March.
However, this season, there have been almost two months of delaying trees that start flowering due to rain before their time and therefore, the trees bear fruit now.
According to farmers, they expect results in the first week of May, this season.
The same situation is common in Kolar, Chikkaballapur and Ramanagar which is a hotspot that grows mango.
Dharwad is known as Aapapi Mango who has found the market in the US, Europe, Bay and Australia.
Last year, farmers had to burn their fingers because of the restrictions on less results and Covid-19.
The farmers, who wanted to recover losses released last year, were abandoned in Lurch this year too.
Mango traders from Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh who generally take rent trees during the fruit stage have not visited the district.
Mangoes are planted in 12,500 hectares in the Dharwad and Kelri districts, scolds, Devarahubballi, Nigadi, Kalghatgi and Hubballi Taluks are large reduced areas.
More than one lakh metric tons of mango is produced in the district.
The contractor took the rental tree based on their soft fruit stage during the second week of January.
It has become a practice that carrier pays 50% of the amount while hiring trees and the rest after harvesting.
Unfortunately, this season, the majority of trees have not reached the flowering stage even after the end of January and therefore, the contractor from Goa, Ahmedabad and Maharashtra have not yet come to the district, a farmer said.
Mango Grower Devendra Jainar said because Covid-19 and Curbs, mangoes cannot be exported and the results are also only 50% of what is common.
