Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has declared local holidays for schools and colleges in nine districts on Wednesday and Thursday given the low pressure area in Bengal Bay and the warning of heavy rainfall.
In accordance with the government’s orders issued by the Public Secretary D Jagannathan on Tuesday, schools and colleges in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, and Mayiladuthurai were given local holidays.
The state government has provided a vacation on Mondays and Tuesdays for schools and colleges in Chennai and three other districts remember heavy rain.
