New Delhi: Delhi is likely to witness light rain on Tuesday, the Meteorology Department of India (IMD) said when the Rain of Monsun avoided the national capital on Monday.
The delayed Monsun missed another date with Delhi on Sundays and the city did not receive the rain until Monday night.
The national capital wakes up to a moist morning with a minimum temperature resolved at 27 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is 37.7 degrees Celsius, the weather department said.
The relative humidity is recorded at 55 percent at 5:30 a.m.
It is hoped that it is a commonly cloudy day with a chance of light rain on Tuesday because the minimum and maximum temperature tends to float around 25 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius.
While the rain fell on the outskirts of Delhi – Aligarh at Uttar Pradesh and Karnal in Haryana – Clouds floated above the national capital, without giving relief from heat.
Monsun’s rain also covered Rajasthan Barat, Punjab and other parts of Haryana.
In 2002, Monsoon reached Delhi on July 19.
This is the most delayed rainy season in the city since then.
According to standard operating procedures, the onset of the monsoon was declared based on the rainfall reported in the last 24 hours ending at 8:30 a.m., an IMD official said.
