GURUGRAM: Parts of the city witnessed a dust storm on Thursday evening.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said although hot and humid conditions will continue to prevail till the end of June, the city might see isolated showers and thunderstorm activities during the next 48 hours.

But dry conditions are expected till June 30.
There might be a slight dip in temperature on Friday but there will be no significant change with the maximum temperature hovering around 40-43 degrees Celsius over the next few days,” an IMD official said.
Wednesday was the hottest day of the month for the city with the maximum temperature touching 42 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Gurugram’s air quality improved marginally but remained in the moderate category with the Air Quality Index (AQI) being recorded at 118 as against 180 on the previous day.
Delhi witnessed rain and a dust storm on Thursday.
Kuldeep Srivastava, scientist at IMD, said, “Rain was recorded at a few places in Delhi and there is a possibility of light to very light rain on Friday and Saturday.
However, there are chances of arrival of monsoon in Delhi-NCR only in July.” The usual date for the onset of monsoon in Delhi is June 27.
IMD’s bulletin on Thursday stated, “Present meteorological conditions are not likely to be favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into remaining parts of Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab.” Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality improved as the overall AQI was recorded at 146 in ‘moderate’ category as against 218 in ‘poor’ category on Wednesday due to strong winds.
“AQI is likely to stay in the moderate category with PM10 as the lead pollutant for the next three days,” stated the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research.
