Kolkata: The city woke up with a bad storm and drizzle that was unrelenting, which was occasionally heavier and tidied the city for more than two hours on Friday morning.
A gust of wind plays havoc with flights at city airports, which leads to delays and diversions.
It was triggered by two low pressure troughs – one across Haryana and Bihar and others that stretched between Bihar and Telngana.
The bathroom back at night with the city received 27.4 mm rain during the day.
At least seven flights arrived Kolkata was delayed due to bad weather.
However, it can dry on Saturday when the city celebrates Saraswati Puja.
But the cloud cover can still float above the city.
While Kolkata records a minimum temperature of 19.8 degrees on Friday, mercury may plunge by five degrees in 48 hours and settle between 14 and 15 degrees.
“Two low pressure troughs are combined to trigger shower.
But Kolkata and South Bengal will remain dry on Saturday.
While the first half of the day it can remain cloudy, it must be clear in the afternoon,” said Director of RMC GK Das.
After cloud covering, mercury will plunge as a Northwesterly refund.
“It will pull the mercury down but the minimum temperature will not plunge under 14,” added the watershed.
North Bengal will continue to receive rain on Saturday.
At the airport, Indigo Airlines flights from Cochin and Indian air flights from Delhi have to get around due to sliding the wind for one hour and 20 minutes, each in the morning and evening.
Other Indigo flights from Silchar also traveled for four minutes in the afternoon because the approach was not stabilized.
Between 10:40 a.m.
and 11:00, Indigo flights from Port Blair were diverted to Ranchi while Indian Air Flights from Port Blair, Indigo flights from Delhi and Spicejet from Chittagong were diverted to Bhubaneshwar.
They returned to Kolkata later in the afternoon after the weather improved.
Despite heavy rain in January and early February rarely, the city and South Bengal got a rain triggered by the West in the winter.
