Rainfall in Vid 14% Deficit, but September looks ‘good’

Nagpur: Although normal, the rainfall that Vidarbha has received to date is around 14% deficit.
However, according to the official meeting, the region still has time to improve the situation as “good rainfall” expected in September.
Speaking with Toi, Deputy Director General of Regional Meteorology (RMC), Nagpur, RM Sahu told that the region received around 679 millimeters (mm) rainfall between June to September 1 to the 693mm period.
“Despite the deficit, the rain in Vidarbha is still below the normal category,” he said.
Four districts in this region have been very deficit – Amravati (28%), Gadchiroli (25%), Gondia (24%) and bulldhana (20%).
“Nagpur is a 4% deficit until now,” said Sahu.
Yavatmal has become trashed followed by Washim.
“Every year, districts that receive excess, normal or rain deficits are different.
Even though the Gondia and some other districts receive a good amount of rainfall, they are under the deficit category because their average normal side is on the higher side,” said Sahu .
TII had previously reported about the long-term estimate of the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) which had estimated excessive rainfall in many parts of Central India, including parts of Vidarbha.
Confirm that the deficit has more than predicted, meeting officials connecting several reasons for it.
“The Monsun has a journey attached to Central India, one of the less reasons for depression developing in Bengal Bay that affects rainfall in Vidarbha.
Also, a typhoon formed in the Indian Pacific Ocean increases rainfall in Central India.
But this time, the negative phase From Dipole Sea India (iod) causes less rainfall here, “added officials.
There is still hope because officials meet expect losses to restore this month.
“Meteorological conditions show good rainfall activities in the coming days.
Vidarbha may get more rainfall, thus increasing the overall situation,” officials said.
In June, the IMD had predicted that Southwestern Monsun’s rainfall in the country would be 96-104% of the Long Period (LPA).
According to its newest report, Northwest and Central India have reported maximum departure from normal rain.
“The normal rainfall above until normal rainfall is estimated to be more than many parts of Central India,” said IMD officials.
In short – Vidarbha is a 14% rain deficit but Normal – Amravati (28%), Gadchiroli (25%), Gondia (24%) and bulldhana (20%) Most deficits – Yavatmal and Washim stretch in the area – several reasons behind the deficit Rainfall – more rainfall expected in Vidarbha in September
