Rainfall record for November in Kerala this year

Kochi: The total rainfall received by the state in November this year is a new record in 120 years.
According to IMD data, the actual rainfall received in November was 394.1mm against normal 153.3mm, excess 157%.
The highest rainfall in November was 1978 365mm.
Since 1901, total total monthly rainfall has crossed 300mm just five times.
The previous highest was 350.8mm (1901), 358mm (1960), 361.7mm (1977), 365.6mm (1978) and 335.1mm (2010).
According to seasonal rainfall from October 1 to December 3, the state has received excessive 116% with Pathamthitta which records other highs in this period too.
This recorded 191% followed by Kasagod with 150% and Kannur with 141%.
All districts in the state have recorded large excessive rainfall with the lowest Alappuzha recording at an excess of 68%.
Meanwhile, the Weather Ministry issued a warning to wasolated heavy rainfall (Yellow Warning) 7-11cm in seven districts for Sunday.
The warning is to Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad and Malappuram.
Along with these districts, Kozhikode and Wayanad are also vigilant for insulated heavy rainfall on Monday.
Rainfall can be accompanied by a storm and lightning.
According to 24-hour rainfall recorded on Saturday, Seethathode received 6cm while the Chitture received 4cm and Nedumangad 3cm rainfall.
Although there were no major changes in the minimum temperature over Kerala during the last 24 hours, above normal in the Alappuzha District, Kannur, Kottayam and Kozhikode.
The gathering recorded a minimum temperature of 22 ° C.
Meanwhile, the ‘Jawad’ cyclone storm, weakened into depth depression on Saturday.
It is likely to move to the northeast and weaken further into depression and reach the near the puri around noon.
Furthermore, it will likely continue to move towards West Bengal Beach and weaken into a low pressure area which is well marked for the next 24 hours.
