NOIDA: Using monsoons likely to strike the area within the next few times, Noida Authority is racing against the time to wash and desilt the primary drains across town in an effort to handle waterlogging.
According to officers, the job will begin from Monday and is anticipated to be complete by July 15.
“Due to this lockdown, the tendering procedure took a while this season.
Consequently, desilting of drains can begin from Monday.
We hope to finish the job by July 15,” explained SC Mishra, the deputy general director, public health division, Noida Authority.
Generally, monsoon reaches on the area approximately June 27.
However, this moment, it’s anticipated on June 15 and people fear the low lying regions of the city can receive waterlogged when the drains aren’t cleaned in time.
“There are several low lying areas close to the drains, such as businesses 34, 33, 11, 12, 21, 22 and 19.

“Drains in sectors 34, 29, 51, 11 and 12 are already shrouded foul odor.
Each year we whine to the government and request them to clean the drains prior to the monsoon.
But each moment, the job is postponed and it moves nicely to the monsoon resulting in waterlogging at many areas,” Jain added.
For cleaning large drains, such as the 17km-long Kondli drain which begins from Delhi’s Ashok Nagar and goes through several residential places, such as businesses 11, 12, 22, 24, 23, 34, 35, 50, 51, 80 and even 137 before entering the Yamuna river from Sector 168, the jurisdiction has chosen to collaborate with the irrigation division.
The town was divided into 10 zones because of this particular job.

Silt is going to be removed and carried into the dumping lawn at Sector 145.
In certain regions where the drain moves through, the cleanup work is going to be undertaken with the irrigation area.
