Gurgaon: The district government has directed regional societies, associations, colleges and other institutions to guarantee proper operation of the rainwater harvesting in their own premises from June 15.
The instructions are issued so the system is efficiently operational throughout the monsoon period.
The groups of the district government will run evaluations after June 15 and the institutions in which the rainwater harvesting methods are located will be sabotaged.
“According to clause 8.
1 (1) of Haryana Building Code, rainwater harvesting is required to be set up from the owner assembling the building to the plot in which the region of the rooftop is 100 square yards or longer.
According to clause 8.
1 (2) of Haryana Building code, the recharging of soil shall be required not just for residential buildings however also for all kinds of buildings such as group housing societies using a plot region over 500 square meters and over,” read the note issued by the deputy commissioner Dr Yash Garg.
The instructions are issued for several residential buildings, colleges and industrial institutions etc.

It had been decided at the interview which the GuruJal teams together with the government teams will run a police drive to assess whether the current rainwater harvesting methods are functioning correctly or not.
“We’ve begun going to the government buildings from the districts such as the government buildings situated in different cubes of Gurgaon and also have assessed approximately 50 buildings.
If rainwater harvesting methods aren’t working correctly, we’re requesting the employees to fix it until June 15.
For the buildings and other institutions, we’ll begin our authorities drive following June 15.
Strict action will be taken against defaulters and job certificate of this construction will also be cancelled when owners do not stick to guidelines,” stated a part of their GuruJal team.
