Jaipur: Five people were arrested after the video clip was said to show they thrashed two people, who were told to “go to Pakistan”, because they were looking for alms in the housing colony in the city of Ajmer Rajasthan, police said.
Police took action based on video circulated on social media last Friday.
The main allegations of Lalit Sharma, who beat beggars, were arrested on Friday while the other four feet were identified as Shailendra No, Tejpal, Surendra and Rohit were arrested on Saturday, said Sho Ramanj Satendra Singh.
He said the action was taken by Suo Motu based on video clips.
“The victims have not been identified and they are traced.
They seem to look like Muslims,” he said.
The video is said to show a young child, a man and woman.
They were cornered by groups of five young people.
In the video, Sharma looks said to kick the boy on his head.
He also slapped another man because it seemed to beg for the housing colony and asked him to “go to Pakistan” to look for alms.
