Jaipur: Because there has been a sustainable decline in Covid infection, hospitals also witnessed a decrease in mucatorcosis cases.
At least 40 dedicated hospitals throughout the country have treated 3,239 cases of mucatorcosis when recording 133 deaths.
Black mushroom cases are seen in patients restored covid with co-morbidity and those given steroids and oxygen therapy from the last week of May and so on.
Doctors say patients who are not given anticoagulants have this problem.
Health Secretary Sidharth Mahajan said, “When we started witnessing such cases, we took the help of experts such as Dr.
Satish Jain, a famous ENT surgeon.
He suggested that we have a dedicated hospital to treat such cases.
So, we arrange at least 40 hospitals throughout the state and to avoid mortality, we need a surgeon.
“” With timely intervention such as surgery, we can reduce the mortality rate, “he added.
Doctors at SMS Hospital and others stated that there was a continuous decline in these cases.
“For the past week, we have seen a continuous swim in this case.
In most cases, we have completed the operation to check infection to rise further,” said Dr.
Sudhir Bhandari, principal and controller, SMS Medical College.
Senior doctors argue that cases have fallen, but those who have dealt with mukormycosis, must go to follow-up regularly.
