Jaipur: The day after the Ministry of Health Uni warned Rajasthan on the challenges that emerged from the Serotype-II Dengue, which was related to more cases and complications than the form of other diseases, the State Health Department had increased its steps to handle the situation.
A senior health department official said they took steps for early detection of cases and prevented mosquito breeding, they had intensified their steps now.
“Our department has written to all district collectors to start fogging and prevent mosquito breeding in the state.
Some areas with stagnant water have turned into a breeding place for post-rain mosquitoes.
This needs to be destroyed,” the official said.
With DenV viruses, which have four different serotypes of infections, including DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-4.
According to experts, recovery from infection because certain serotypes are believed to give a lifetime immunity to the serotype.
However, cross immunity to other serotypes after recovery is only partially, and temporarily.
The official said that if someone was infected with one serotype, but then infected with other serotypes of the virus, there was a higher chance to develop severe dengue fever.
Therefore, it is necessary to prevent its epidemic by preventing mosquito nursery, which transmits the dengue virus from infected people to healthy individuals, the official added.
Officials said people also had to play their role in preventing mosquito breeding in their homes.
