Jaipur: The police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man who tried to rape a woman before throwing her body into 100 feet, after breaking her head with a heavy stone four days ago under the area of the Tunga Police Station.
The police registered the defendant as one Raju Meena, a resident of a small hamlet under Tunga.
According to ACP (Bassi) MeNa Chand Meena, the investigation team had restored a pair of women’s sandals splashing blood.
“Our team went around the area to ask about the owner of sandals and this took us to the threshold of the accused,” he said.
In accordance with the police, the terrible incident occurred shortly after 7pm on January 7, when the defendant walked in the 28-year-old woman passed a remote path, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the village.
He dragged him to a quiet farm where he forcibly took off his clothes when a fight broke out between the two.
He was injured while trying in the struggle where the defendant had a heavy stone and destroyed it on his head.
The police said that the woman bleeded degrees and died there in place.
The defendant then dragged his body to about 150 meters from the murder and pushed him into a dry well to clean his footsteps.
On January 8, the Tunga police station received a telephone call that told them about the body found in the well.
The police issued a body with the help of locals and sent it to Post-Mortem.
He was identified by his brother.
Meanwhile, the police called the FSL team to a place that collected samples from the area.
The dog forces also took some important evidence between the place of murder occurred and the well where the body was discarded.
The police team confiscated many samples including sandals.
The police team surveyed small hamlets to find certain footwear owners.
The search for police led to a woman who said that her husband had dressed sandals that day.
“We have ordered the defendant for murder and efforts to rape,” Meena said.
