Jaipur: The majority of the dams, except for some in the city division, need water in their water catchment area.
Bisalpur Dam, serves Jaipur, Tonk and Ajmer water needs, only 34% filled.
Likewise, the water level in other dams is below 50%.
However, engineers in various dams hope to get rainfall in the water catchment area, which will help increase water content in the dam.
Bisalpur Dam is almost 60% full after the end of the rainy season on September 15, 2020.
But so far this year, it is only 34% full and without rainfall in the water catchment area, thinning water.
“One good spell in the catchment area can do a miracle.
This is 34% filled this year, but we hope to get good rain,” said Manish Bansal, Executive Engineer, Bisalpur Dam.
The current water level is 372.60 relative level (RL) / meter against full capacity of 1095.84 RL / meter.
Likewise, other dams including the Mahi Dam in Banswara were 65.02% filled, Jawai Dam (Pali) filled 11.91%, and JaisaMand Lake Dam in Udaipur was 65.04% filled.
