Jaipur: Two senior public school teachers are among the eight gang members who were arrested for alleged Dummy candidates in the test requirements for Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector for Rs 22 Lakh.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh said that the police on Wednesday held a Dummy candidate from the examination center in Brahmpuri and registered the first number 555/21 under cheating (420), forgery (120b) IPC.
“We arrested eight accused including one candidate, three proxy candidates, and four intermediaries,” said Deshmukh, added that the investigation was ongoing to determine the role of other suspects in the racket.
The police are a special team, led by additional DCP, Sumit Kumar Gupta to investigate all conspiracies.
“Netram Meena (32) runs the entire racket through his aides.
He is a school lecturer who is currently posted at the Tehrarah Tehsil from the Madhopur Sawai District,” Gupta said.
Meena runs the Nexus cheating on the help of his aide and government teacher Bhanwar Lal (38), is currently posted as third grade teacher at Meethra Khurd in the Barmer district.
In addition to Meena and Lal, another accused of being registered by the police, is Kedar Prasad Meena (40), Bhabhuta RAM (28), Maha Dev (26), Puspendra Singh Meena, Hanuman Ram Bishnoi and Channa Ram.
According to Gupta, Pushpendra Singh is one of the temporary candidates Mahadev, Hanuman RAM and Channa RAM are Dummy candidates.
“Netram Meena is a native of Karauli Regency and lured the candidate from the Sawai District of Madhopur, Dholpur and Dausa.
He will take the original documents of candidates including Aadhar and permission cards and replace candidates with photos of Dummy candidates using computer software,” Gupta said.
Introduction investigations have revealed that the defendant will take up to RS 22 lakh from a candidate before sending Dummy candidates.
RS 5 Lakh was given to Dummy candidates, while Rs 5 Lakh was handed over to the intermediary and Rs 10 to 12 lakh stored by Meena for himself.
“Dummy candidates are students who have prepared several competitive exams.
They were taken from the Barmer District to write a test as a real candidate,” said Gupta, added that nearly 15 suspects are currently under the scanner because of their alleged involvement in the cheating racket.
The police team was sent to various countries for inquiry.
