Jaipur: The return of migrants from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Telangana are likely to surge in the Dungarpur tribal district, Banswara, Udaipur and Pratapgarh.
There is no clear guideline so far in registering migrants and doing RT-PCR tests except for those who come through the air make it difficult for local administration to load infection.
Local administration has activated its engine to contain situations in these districts which are the entry point for migrants in the state.
Of the 24 positive cases reported in Dungarpur on Friday, 17 had returned from Gujarat.
Dungarpur SP Sudhir Joshi said, “We have started checking passengers at checkpost on the border.
Those who show symptoms are being tested and treated accordingly.” However, they did not trace migrants to the places they headed.
Guidelines do say the necessary steps need to be taken to stop the spread.
DM Banswara Ankit Kumar Singh has directed the local government to adopt steps taken during the first and second wave of Covid.
Recognizing that the district will witness the entry of migrants, Banswara Covid War Room Incharge Bhawani Singh Palawat, said, “The migrants have just begun to come from all over the country.
We have activated the village level committee to register and quarantine houses that return from anywhere outside the country.
Even the school has been asked to serve as an institutional quarantine center “.
Pratapgarh Regency relies on aggressive testing because they cannot check migrant movements that come in the district.
V D Meena, Cmo, Pratapgarh, said they had an increase in tests from 300-400 to 1,500-1,800.
“Fear of the very high class among migrants which is the reason why they start back in large quantities.
The only choice we have is encouraging people to come to test even if they show small symptoms,” he said.
