Jaipur: State is expected to receive 41 doses of lakh vaccine covishield on Sundays because the availability of doses has been continuously decreased for the past few days.
The country, which has 52 doses of lakh on January 10, has now been reduced to 25.5 doses of lakh.
A senior health department officer said vaccination drive was increased in December and January, because the available doses had been reduced.
“We expect supply of 41 doses of lakh covishield on Sunday.
We focus more on vaccination people who have not received the first dose and those who have not received the second, despite qualifying for it,” said a senior health department official.
The official said that the second dose had also reduced from 87 lakh to 60 lakh in the past two months.
Vakzin demand also increased with the initial vaccination of 15-17 years of children and a dose of booster for elders with comorbidity and also health workers and front lines in the state.
In the state, the dosage given (including the first, second and booster) has now violated the 9 Crore sign.
Up to 5.30 in the afternoon on Saturday, the cumulative dose given in the state has increased to 9.01 crores.
