Jaipur: Former Education Minister Vasudev Devnani has remembered the chaos of his parents – Bhavandas Devnani and Sakha Devnani – faced in Sindh during the partition.
He shared this as a series of tweets to mark the day of the first partition that was observed being observed throughout the county on Saturday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday Tweeted “Partition’s pain will never be forgotten.
Millions of our sisters and brothers and sisters are abandoned and many have lost their lives because of unhappy hatred and violence.
In the memory of our people’s struggle and sacrifice, 14 August will be observed as a partition of the horror of the anniversary.
“In the reaction to the Tweet of PM Modi, Devnani, whose parents migrated from Sindh in Pakistan, Pakistan was afraid of violence, in a series of four tweets, sharing the incident he heard from his parents.
“My father told me that people killed each other, some families were kidnapped while many others jumped into the well or other people who were raised themselves at home, Gurudwaras and the temple to save their respect,” Tweeted Devnani.
Revealing more detailed the horrors faced by his parents, Devnani further added that my parents ran to find a train.
The train runs but is filled with people.
“Some of them sit on the train become the feared Pakistani victims,” Devnani said.
He concluded his statement by stating that his parents suffered a partition tragedy.
