Jaipur: The Ministry of Forestry has arrested two people because of killing leopards in Alwar.
Sariska forest officials have increased alertness in the area after the carcass of one adult leopard and two children was found in Alwar’s territorial forest area for four days.
While the officials are uncertain about it being a case of hunting, they claim that the details will be confirmed after the investigation.
Senior official also visited the place where the carcass was found.
Badi from a adult male leopard said about 6-7 years was found initially following the carcass of which two boys, one male and one female, both aged around 13 months, were also found.
DN Pandey, Head of Forest Force (HOFF) said, “Two people have been arrested under the laws and investigations of wildlife protection on progress.
At present, the details of these people cannot be disclosed and the sample of the carcass has been sent for forensic investigations..
It seems that the leopard died a few days ago and the cause of death will be determined after the examination.
“The official claimed that the place where the carcass was found about 4 km from Sariska’s reserve.
This incident was revealed after the village youth near the Jir area in the Alwar district saw the leopard in the bush.
He immediately took a photo and sent it to forest officials.
But the Ministry of Forestry team cannot find a carcass.
Finally, on Wednesday, the villagers found the leopardized carcass.
After this, on Thursday Sariska’s team and the Alwar Forest Division reached the place and restored other carcasses.
