Jodhpur: As many as five people, including a 3-year-old girl, died after being buried on the sand on the newly built granite site at Jalore at night.
All victims are laborers, who have explored a hole for the foundation.
A girl playing around the site was also a victim of an accident.
What was injured was taken after the rescue operation and rushed to the hospital, where they were declared dead.
Two of them were locals, while the other two including the girl, came from the district of Baran and worked as a laborer on the site.
According to this information, the incident occurred in the Bhagli industrial area of the granite processing unit on the outskirts of Jalore, where the work for the new factory was in process.
“These workers are involved in digging a hole for the foundation and water tank on the factory site.
Around 4pm, some workers came out for tea while four workers continued to work in a hole.
Suddenly, the pile of sand falls on this worker and they are all buried Under it.
A girl, who plays, is also buried in the sand, “said a police officer.
When the information dissemination, officials from the police and administration rushed to the place along with the carrier of the Granite Association Office and rescue operations began.
It took a little more than half an hour to issue all five victims and they rushed to the hospital.
But they were all declared dead at that time.
