City: Five family members were killed after the wall collapsed in their homes due to heavy rain which was unrelenting in the Bundi Rajasthan district, police said on Wednesday.
Two other family members were feared trapped under the rubble, they said.
The incident occurred on the night intervention Tuesday and Wednesday in the Navghat area, police said.
Shivraj Meena police supervisor said an old wall collapsed at home where two brothers, Mahendra Kaivat and Kaivat Mahaveer, lived with their families.
Because of this, the roof of the house surrendered, buried the seven family members under the rubble.
After receiving information about the incident, the police rushed to the place and managed to draw two people from debris.
The other three were saved on Wednesday morning, he said.
Operation was ongoing to save two remaining family members who remained trapped under the rubble, he added.
Keshoraaratatan Lokendra Paliwal’s house officer said all five family members – two women and three little girls – who were rescued gave up on injury.
The house was built a decade ago in an unplanned way, he said.
