The river, which is home to dolphin species, crocodiles, nine species, nine species of turtles and many others, will be preserved under the name Gange program.
For the same, the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) on Monday held a workshop on ‘planning and management for conservation of aquatic species and maintenance of ecosystems in the Ganges’ river basin.
A senior official said, “With the help of the Ministry of Jal Shakti and Wii, the government has made a plan to save Chambal, the only river flowing throughout the year in Rajasthan.” After the proposal starts, strong attention will be given to reduce pollution in the river.
