Rajasthan: BANSWARA VILLAGE BANS BOOZE AT MARRIES

Udaipur: Tribal Society in Ghodi Tezpur Village in Choti Sarwan from Banswara has decided to ban liquor and loud music at the wedding, end ancient tradition.
The decision was taken to prevent unnecessary disputes and costs.
Violators will draw a fine of RS 21,000 to serve alcohol and RS 51,000 to play hard music.
This decision to impose a ban and fine was taken before the former Sarpanches village.
A total of 13 panches ward along with members of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti and other villagers participated in the meeting.
Mahapachayat is held by Sarva Samaj where after the decision of each member and family representative is signed in the register.
Shyama Khadiya, Sarpanch of Harnathpura Panchayat Samiti, said playing loud music during a wedding was a nuisance and they wanted to get rid of it.
He said this step would help them return to their traditional instruments to celebrate.
“The police have convinced us about all support,” he added.
Aandu Mayda, Deputy Sarpanch from Choti Sarvan, said the Mahapachayat decision to ban liquor and loud music during the wedding celebration would end wasteful expenses.
A copy of the decision was handed over to Danpur police to ensure strict compliance.
According to Ramesh Chandra Meena, Sho Danpur, the villagers handed over a memorandum after deciding with loud and alcohol music completely.
“It is our duty to overcome anything that is a nuisance for ordinary humans.
Young people play loud music and dance on the streets, disturbing everyone.
This is a positive step taken by villagers and our team will always support.
This good cause , “Meena said.
