Jaipur: Lake Chandlai in Shivdaspura nearby was damaged by illegal water pumping by villagers to irrigate their closest farm farm.
This, coupled with fishing indiscriminately, threatens the movement of birds that migrate in winter.
The body of water inland, spread across 6 SQKM, used to attract birds from Central Europe, Central Asia and China for five months a year.
The figure is now reduced and the bird’s stay has also dropped to two-three months.

Rohit Gangwal, managing the Trustee Manda Raksha said, “The exploitation of Lake indiscriminately conveys the danger for birding sites that are well documented historically.
Illegal fishing activities do not leave food for birds, force them to starve and go for another way.
Step Institutional steps such as siba and protected sites can only ensure that the area can be preserved.
“The highest number of birds is calculated is 1.5 lakh (303 species) while the current count is less than 40,000 (123 species).
This lake thrives in rain water and a polluted water flow from the Dravyawati River which takes victims in Flora and Fauna.
This lake is in a record since 1872.
Because populations have increased various with agriculture as the main economic activity, villagers illegally pump water during the winter or for the Rabbi season.
“Previously they used water in the traditional way of the water catchment area but now with access to water pump machines, they actually shrink the lake,” said Sahil Singhal for animals.
The report said that the water catch area was 3,000 hectares damaged by mass encroachment.
More than 10 species of birds such as North Shoveler, General Pochard, Redshank, General Greenshank, tufted duck, General Redshank is being imagined along with geeses-headed bars (2,000) and the majority (1,200) and pelikan (1,200).
In addition to shrinking the lake, another tragedy for birds is removing trees from the lake and water catchment area that functions as a resting place for them.
