Rajasthan: Dalit men are made to drink urine in Churu, two are held

Jaipur: A 25-year-old Dalit was allegedly kidnapped, beaten and forced to drink urine by eight men over old hostility in Churu, police said on Sunday.
Two defendants have been arrested, they said.
According to the police complaint submitted by the victim Rakesh Meghwal, a resident of Rukhasar Village, on January 27, was accused of kidnapping him from his house around 11 the night before and took him to the field in a SUV.
They forced him to drink liquor after that they urinate in the same bottle and force him to his throat, Meghwal was alleged in his lawsuit at the Ratangarh police station.
He also alleged that the insult of Casteist accused used and other insulting terms said Dalit would be given a lesson to deal with them because all of them belonged to the ‘influential’ community.
The police said the sign injury on Meghwal’s back confirmed that he had been attacked.
“This confirms that he was beaten and two defendants had been arrested in connection with this issue.

They have ordered under Section 143 (breaking the assembly law), 323 (voluntary causing illness), 365 (kidnapping) and 382 (theft after preparation made to cause death, hurt, or restraint) from the Indian Code and under the caste / Tribe Scheduled (Prevention of Atrocity) Law, officers said, adding that the vehicle used in the crime had recovered.
