Rajasthan government schools left behind in infrastructure

Jaipur: Although Rajasthan spends around 6% of the total budget for education, but is still lagging behind infrastructure development in government schools, according to recent reports on integrated district information systems for education (UDISE).
Within 32% of government schools, no power connections with children must learn in extreme heat conditions.
According to sources in the education department, 70% of primary government schools function without electricity.
Similarly, 9% of schools do not have functional drinking water facilities in their place.
About 9% of government schools do not have boys and 10% toilets do not have female toilets.
Commenting on the reality of land in government schools, Vipin Sharma, Vice President of Rajasthan Primary and Secondary School teacher associations, “If you go to many government schools in the city of Jaipur, there are no drinking water facilities.
Many primary government schools do not have electricity or toilets.

“According to the report, around 74% of schools have a library, however, the teacher claims that it is only a small room with 100 strange books.
The concept of developing a broad library in government schools has not been implemented.
This situation is even worse in terms of computer facilities.
Only 30% of schools in the state have computer facilities, where only 24% have functional internet.
Narayan Lal Sisodia, spokesman Rajasthan Shikshak Evam Pancayati Raj Karamchari Sangh said, “There is an urgent need to focus on infrastructure development in rural areas as the majority of children study in those schools.
We spend many state budgets for education.

“According to the right to the education law, every school must be clean.
However, only 7.75% have functional toilets and 45% have functional ramps with a hand fence for children with special needs (CWSN) in the state.
Experts believe that compared to last year, there have been improvements in the state of education in the state, but a lot to do if we want to touch even the national average.
