Rajasthan Govt to expand the scheme for the rehabilitation of hooch makers

Jaipur: The state government will implement a new action plan for Navjeevan Yojana’s expansion for rehabilitation of people and families who are addicted to liquor and are involved in the manufacture of hooch.
The large community awareness campaign against drug addiction will also be launched in the memory of the former MLA GUURUARAN CHHABRA.
The Chairman of the Minister of Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Justice and Social Empowerment in this regard and agreed to the additional budget of Rs 25.74 Crore.
In 2009, ‘Navjeevan Yojana’ was launched to rehabilitate family related to the manufacture of hooch in the state.
Given the positive results, in the state budget in 2021-22, the expansion of the scheme and public awareness campaign in all states on drug addiction was announced.
According to the approved proposal, under the new action plan, Rs 22.60 Crore will be spent on various activities through Navjeevan Yojana for identification and rehabilitation of people and families suffering from drug addiction.
Below, skills training will be given to 5000 people from the target group, which will cost the total RS 11.2 Crore.
There are budget terms spend 10 crores for infrastructure.
RS 70 Lakh will be spent on the distribution of 2000 cycles to school children in each family, Rs 60 Lakh for the target survey of people and family and Rs 10 lakh for hostels for 500 students.
Apart from this, families suffering from drugs will benefit from priorities from lending under the Urban Indira Gandhi credit scheme, Mahatma Gandhi Nreega and Rajivika Yojana and replacement of costs under the right of education.
