Jaipur: The Ministry of Higher Education has begun initiative to change the pattern of education in the state.
The state government-when recently sent a letter to all representatives of Chancellor to start a choice credit system on their campus.
In this process, students will get an 80% sign on academically and 20% in other courses he has learned.
These courses can be attributed to any skills studies or developments that will improve their skills for the labor market.
Sandesh Nayak, college education commissioner, said, “We want the current system to have some changes so that it will be beneficial for students in the future.
Pandemics is a wake-up call for us and we need to change the system now.” He further said that recently This college education department starts skills development courses under a large-scale open online course (MOOC) where various online courses are given to students.
If a further selection-based credit system is introduced at the University, then the points of joining these courses can also be made part of their evaluation.
Commenting on a choice-based credit system, Representative Chancellor Dr.
B R Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur, Dev Swarup said that in the current scenario it was difficult to have this system at universities and colleges.
“In the higher education committee, we recently submitted several recommendations to bring changes in the system.
First, is to introduce a semester system in college and to remove the concept of private students from the system.
The semester system will arrange education with several checks without depending on One test.
“He further said that private students who only had to provide an examination without lectures were also negatively influenced by promotion in a pandemic.
“We can have a choice-based credit system if we will have good faculties and infrastructure in government universities because most of the higher education institutions lack it.
Once we can apply this change and build our infrastructure on it, we can think of a choice credit system , “Swaroop said.
