Jaipur: The State Government has signaled that the 30 Lakh Functional Targets Tap Functional Households (FHTC) set for 2021-22 below Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) cannot be achieved for technical reasons such as sustainable water resources, village surveys, Financial and poor delays because of Covid-19.
JJM is a target-based central government program.
The state also states that the program can be accelerated if the center increases its shares from 50% to 90% .JM has set a target to provide tap water connections at 1.01 rural households in the state at the end of 2024.
Total target of 1.01 household rustic crore , 22.40 Lakh’s household installed FHTC on January 15.
This is 22.08% of the total target.
“At the end of the financial year 2021-22, the target is to reach at least 50% of tap connections that cannot be achieved with a few more months,” said a state government official.
The main task of the survey has been carried out in less than 24,000 villages against 43,323 villages.
“The survey will determine the pattern of rainfall, water resources, ground water tables, dry situations, water bodies, etc., which will help the state to prepare a framework for tap connections in the villages,” said an official.
However, this country leads in forming a village level water and sanitation committee with almost every village has it.
In addition to sustainable water resources, the state must ensure that each FHTC has 55 liters of pipe water supply per person.
