Jaipur: Rajasthan police have issued circular construction that prohibits the temple in the police station and police station.
This order was issued by ADG (police housing) PonnunChamy on Monday quoting Rajasthan’s religious buildings and venues, 1954, which prohibited the use of public places for religious purposes.
A top of Rajasthan police officials told TII that the order overtook a list of complaints about the construction of the temple in the police building which reportedly required order enforcement.
Circular said there had been an increase in the construction of ‘Pooja Sthal’ with ‘Jan Sahbhagita’ (Public Participation) on behalf of faith in untest police station.
Circular also said the map approved for the construction of police stations had no provisions for places of worship.
When asked about orders, PonnunChamy claimed that he only issued instructions to ensure that the rules of the action were followed.
“We have received three complaints about certain temples built in the police building,” the official said.
“Complaints say that this temple is being built with the help of public participation.
Therefore, we remind all senior officials to ensure that special laws must be upheld so that the police place is not used to worship,” the official added.
While the police Rajasthan also claimed that the practice of building religious places with public participation in the police station and the police station on behalf of faith was not legal, he clarified that the command would not have an impact on the existing police structure.
