Jaipur: In a joint operation, Rajasthan police intelligence wing, along with military intelligence, arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly spy on the Pakistani intelligence agency on Thursday.
The defendant carried out a gas agent in Narhad Town in Jhunjhunu District and sent confidential and sensitive information to Pakistan’s handlers over the past few months.
The accusation was detained because he was questioned on September 12 and was arrested on Thursday.
The defendant, identified as Sandeep Kumar, is the owner of the LPG Gas Agency in Narhad City near Chirawa in Jhunjhunu District.
“It seems that he was related to Pakistani handlers through several social network platforms, at first they asked about their customers.
While they believed that some of his customers included a watch from the Townsituated Narhad army camp, they lured him to send information as a substitute for money,” said a senior officer wing Intelligence with anonymity requirements.
Umesh Mishra, Director General, Intelligence stated that Pakistani handling officers contacted allegations a few months ago through the social networking platform and requested sensitive and confidential information related to the army camp in Narhad.
“It was also found that the defendant also sent his bank details to the handling and had received some money to send information,” said a senior officer.
After watching the Sandeep activities, The Intelligence Wing first held him on September 12 and then took him to Jaipur to be interrogated.
“Following the burdensome evidence of him, the defendant was arrested on Thursday,” the officer added.
“He will be produced in court on Friday and we will take him in a return at least one week to ask him further,” the officer said.
The case below the appropriate section of the official secret law, 1923 has also been submitted against the defendant.
